Thrush Protocol using Hoof Armor

PROTOCOL FOR THRUSH and HOOF ARMOR

CLEAN frog. Get it very clean. No dark pockets and no flaps for debris to hide under. Clean the frog. Clean out the collateral grooves. Clean out the central sulcus.
Then scrub vigorously with a wire brush.
Then put an alcohol based cleaning spirit on a cloth and rub it all over. This is to dry everything. Clean the whole frog. Clean the collateral grooves. Clean the central sulcus.
In NZ I use methylated spirits. Use a rubbing alcohol.

You can do this in every crevice. But.... the central sulcus if it is deep and contracted it requires further cleaning before application - see further down for details.

The alcohol based cleaner will evaporate and dry the whole frog area for application.

I then put Hoof Armor on. Thin layer - think like putting on moisturizer.
Repeat every 2 weeks.

NOTE FOR CENTRAL SULCUS (CS)
(The sulcus Will be hard to clean if it is deeply contracted. So it will need extra attention. It is recommended to floss it daily with a soft cloth to drag the debris out or alternatively drag a qtip through it. Then syringe a mix of copper sulphate and apple Cider vinegar 50/50 mix thru it. IMPORTANT to get a syringe that you can blast the liquid thru at speed.
Syringe liquid thru at least 5 times per application.
HoofArmor can go in the CS but there is no guarantee all the bacteria is cleaned off. Hence the syringing.
After a 5 days HoofArmor can be applied in the CS)
