What makes a healthy hoof (horse) Part1

WHAT MAKES A HEALTHY HOOF (HORSE)
(Part 1)

==============
TRIMMING FREQUENCY
4-6weekly trims is the recommended trim cycle.
It is not a good idea to leave it any longer than this.
Why?
Because to keep progressing with hoof improvement or to keep the foot in good health and shape, this trim frequency is the 'gold standard'.
Studies show after 6 weeks growth - the foot has exceeded the parameters a foot can be 'bought back in to line'.
Of course – if your horse was walking around 20km a day (yes daily) then maybe this could be extended.
Generally in domestic situations this will never be the case.  Thus, if the trim frequency is any time after 6 weeks you will not improve or even maintain the current integrity of the foot.
