Hoof Armor Inspirational Post!!!!!
This is Tera Allen.
She is riding her Morgan horse - Jazz ( Alves Encore)
This image was taken in 2012.
They are riding up a rock face (called Cougar Rock) in The Tevis Cup Ride which is an endurance event in America.
The Tevis Cup is a 100mile-one day course.
What is so special about this image????
MANY THINGS!
1 - In this photo Tera's horse, Jazz is wearing Hoof Armor. NO BOOTS.
2 - This was the FIRST event since its beginnings in 1955 that a horse was allowed to ride in it BAREFOOT.!!
Two riders competed barefoot that year. Tera who is pictured, and another (Heather Toland who rode her Morab Rikki).
3 - It took 2 years to get a barefoot waiver to ride this event.
4 - To receive the approval Tera needed to prove that her horse was able to handle this terrain without shoes. This entailed getting vets and witness to sign off on previous rides done barefoot.
5, It also needed a rule restructure to be able to enter.
6. How was this done? With regular/timely trimming, good diet, terrain conditioning and HOOF ARMOR to support/protect and maintain hoof condition.
I personally think Tera and Jazz are an outstanding example of what Hoof Armor can do for your horse.
And guess what? They are still out there doing it, riding this type of terrain - 6 years later!!!
Arent they amazing??????
Reach for the stars everyone...
Be the best you can be.
