BAREFOOT PERFORMANCE HOOF TRIMMING - What is it?? What is my service??? What is it NOT?
CORE VALUES ~ Natural Hoof Balance&Hoof
NOTE PLEASE ALSO READ HEALTH&SAFETY LINK AT BOTTOM OF PAGE
The barefoot trim I offer is a barefoot performance trim. Hooves are trimmed on a regular basis based off hoof health.
This may be as short as 3 weeks or up to 8 weeks and beyond. But typically the horse will be on a 6to8week trim cycle for a healthy set of hooves.
Area Pricing - $50/horse. $45minis. $5 discount on each horse if there are 4 or more. For pricing outside my trim area - contact me privately. (AS AT 1 June 2022)
The service is a holistic one, where we may discuss movement, diet, social behaviours and physical health. This is done because of all these factors contribute to barefoot performance success.
Yes - Hoof Boot fitting is part of my service. - I will incorporate a one off trim in with this boot fitting if requested. It is the only time a one off trim is offered.
What is it NOT??
It is NOT A CASUAL TRIM arrangement - it is a set trim cycle based on unique hoof health. Please seek another trimmer if you cannot commit to a set trim cycle.
It is not a shoeless trim, rather it is for a lifetime of barefoot (performance unshod). I WILL discuss with you posture, confirmation, feeding, movement and various other things related to the holistic values of horsemanship.
It is not a glue-on service, but occasionally there may be corrective glueing work.
How does the trim scheduling work
Scheduling is done prior to my visit where I will contact you for availability for a certain day or week. Then I can start coodinating my timetable for your area. I will get back to you with a time. SOMETIMES I might be running late!!! Hooves belongs to horses and things may not go to plan, but essentially I try to be timely. If I am not - I will let you know during that day.
What can you do to help?? It is appreciated if
= Horses are ready or close at hand when I arrive
= There is a flat surface available for balancing the hoof/body
= Health and Safety protocols are adhered to
